About Eureka seveN: Psalms of Planets
The anime takes place 10,000 years in the future, where humanity has left the Earth and found a new home. They are not the only sentient life form living there: Scub Coral, which makes up a large portion of the planet itself is a mysterious, intelligent being. It causes a phenomenon called Trapar (Transparent Light Particle) - strange energy floating in the air which people use to supply free power to flying vehicles, and even for surfing-like sport in the skies (called lifting or reffing).
The main character of Eureka 7 is Renton Thurston, a 14 year old son of Adrock Thurston, who died saving the world. Renton lives with his mechanic grandfather, hating his boring hometown and his father's reputation that surrounds him. He dreams of joining a rebel group called Gekko state, which has some of the best "reffers" too. An opportunity to do so comes up when Eureka, a mysterious girl from Gekko state, visits his grandfather to get some emergency repairs for her robot, Nirvash typeZERO.
Eureka 7 is a manifold anime that covers several different themes. It's a story of a boy growing up to become a man, and finding his path in life. It's a story of love between two beings from different worlds. It's a story about fighting to save the planet, and making great sacrifices in the progress.
Eureka 7 is produced by Bones studio. It has 50 episodes, which are all named after a song. The genres of this anime are: Adventure, Mecha, and Romance. I usually don't like mecha anime much, but I absolutely loved E7!

Storywriter of the Skies, In those hands of yours And finally in this bud you hold Create love For the Skies For hands opened all at once For eyes opened all at once For drawings sketched all at once Light shines And this story's sequel that splits our future now starts!

in reply to pg best anime true... best sci fi is stretching it a litte. I take it then you have never read any of Asimov, the Enders series, or just about any of the seventy and eighties stuff. This is a great anime and good science fiction but if it comes down to it its not in my top ten best SciFi.

in reply to pg it certainly does present more daunting brain challenges, in of itself it is an amazing love story, and adventure. soundtrack is as always amazing as is the animation, but the daunting mental challenges come from the inner meaning and soul put into the entire series and movie, both internally as their interconnectedness between the worlds, but the meaning and lessons about life and tolerance as well as fighting for what is right and the preciousness of love. ive never seen a series with so much to say to the world at large as well as the world within. ive probobaly watched the movie 20 times since i downloaded it july 2nd, and every time ive come away with a better understanding of the movie and how intertwined the storylines truely are, many ppl say the characters are so dfferent personalty wise, yet they are the same, the only difference is their reactions tempered by pain, and ill fate. i could see the holland on this side being just as ruthless, as the movie one

in reply to gp_72 To the creator of this site: Agreed! E7 is the best anime ever! It's also the best science fiction story ever, in my opinion.
To gp_72, thanks for the hint! I just watched the movie twice and didn't get it. Enjoyed it immensely, but didn't get it. I didn't even get it when holland saw the carved moon after going through the zone, but it totally makes sense that it's the other side of the rift. I felt good about understanding the series, but this story has laid down yet another daunting brain challenge. I will be watching the movie over and over until I figure out the connections between the two universes.

nanashi has subbed the movie in 720 p, ive been watching and rewatching it for a few days, its not a sequel, or retelling or different mythos in the usual sense, it is the other side of the rift created by the scubs experience with the limit of questions(as discussed in acperience 4 ep 47), and this was the events that occured within the divergent universe adjacent to the series universe. the only thing i will say is the movie is absolutely beautiful, the best anime movie ive ever seen, every time i watch it it brings me to the brink of tears, it is that powerful. as amazing as the series was and as amazing as i expected the movie to be, even i couldnt comprehend what my soul was about to absorb. it was so much beyond anything i could have ever hoped for, just utterly amazing. if your confused, rewatch it a 2nd time, youll have to to truely understand. i know i did. i havent words to describe how amazing this movie is. i absolutely loved it, and am even more obsessed. absolutely amazed

I love this show... i've never watched an anime series so much. i fell in love with its song Story Writer, but after watching the ending of Pocket full of Rainbow i've been obsessed with its ending song.
I Can't even express my lvoe for the anime its self, its truly such a great anime.. its my personal timeless classic and i don't think it will ever be outclassed in my books.

I can easily agree... I never really go on about something being the best, but after E7 i watched some Several new anime's and while they were good...They didn't give me that sort of feeling that i had with E7.
Its the same kind of feeling i had when i first watched Outlaw Star, it was amazing.
THe things that made Eureka Seven so amazing were definitely
-The Story
-Character Development
-Art Style
-Music Score
-The Actors
What am i saying...I cant even begin to imagine this Show with a different Soundtrack.. Now we just gotta wait for the movie to be brought out on dvd/blu-ray so i can import it, subbed or not...

Oh yes, I definitely wished there was more, if only for the reason that I had enjoyed it so much.

I totally agree that Eureka 7 is one of the best Japan animes I've seen. It has an amazing storyline. Very addicting. The only bad thing I can think of is that I felt it was a little short lived. Left me kinda hanging almost but some people like that sort of thing... it keeps it short and sweet.... but for some reason you wish there was more. Bottom line... this anime is simply amazing! >_
